Lawn care for Ferndale homes and business grounds, every season.
Thatch is the layer of dead grass that builds up on top of the lawn. In Western Washington, moss can take over a lawn quickly over the winter. When moss is past what iron sulfate or other treatments can fix, dethatching is the answer. Dethatching pulls that layer out of the lawn, and it's also how we remove moss. The process clears away the dead material and the moss together, so the surface can breathe and the grass underneath has room to recover.
After dethatching, we overseed to fill in where the thatch and moss came out. Overseeding helps the lawn crowd out weeds and moss as it grows back thicker. Core aeration pulls cores of soil out of the lawn, which relieves compaction so air, water and nutrients can reach the roots. The grass roots deeper and fills in denser after aeration. We do core aeration and overseeding in spring or fall.
A fertilizer program feeds the lawn through the growing season. Weekly mowing keeps the grass at the right height, and cut height is set for the season, raised and lowered to suit the grass and the weather. Mowing direction changes every visit. Add in aeration and dethatching at the right times, and the lawn has what it needs through the year.

Yes, we mow on your regular day, every week. Each mowing route has its own crew, so the same crew comes every time. Mowing direction changes every visit, and clippings are mulched in or hauled away.
